Taping with kinesio tapes

In our practice, we use tried and tested conventional medical methods as well as methods of alternative medicine. The only decisive factor is that the method works and does so as gently and without undesirable side effects as possible.

All of this also applies to the use of kinesio tapes. When used correctly, I have come to appreciate taping as a very effective and gentle method. As Kinesio tape has a similar elasticity to human skin, the tape adapts perfectly to the body's movements.

To apply the Kinesio tape, the muscle, joint or ligament to be treated must be brought into a specific position. By fixing the tape in place, the skin is pushed against the underlying tissue during movement. This stimulation is intended to regulate muscle tension , relieve pain and optimize blood flow. The uppermost layers of skin are lifted so that small blood and lymph vessels can open up. This improves microcirculation and leads to the removal of metabolic waste products and a better supply of nutrients and oxygen to the affected area.

In addition, the damaged muscle or the affected joint, tendon or ligament is supported and relieved.

In the case of sports injuries and osteoarthritis, Kinesio tape is also ideal for protecting joints, tendons, ligaments and muscles thanks to its supportive function.
